I love dentistry. I love people more than the actual teeth. I was inspired to get into dentistry because I had orthodontics myself. I got to see, firsthand, how a really crooked smile could go to something that is something to be proud of. I wanted to know more about it. I just really wanted to figure out, what in the world is going on? Why are hard things moving through hard things and nothing's breaking or falling out? That sparked my interest. I had a girlfriend who was also in orthodontics, and so she had a ton of stuff that she needed to do. We were carpooling as little kids, and so I got to see all of her stuff too. That was just fascinating.
The most rewarding part about being a dentist, for me, is just seeing people transformed and giving them confidence and helping them feel great about themselves through dentistry. We are committed to staying on the forefront of technology. I'm not an early adopter. I like to sit back and make sure the research is solid. We do about 88 to 100 continuing education hours every year for me and my team, just to make sure that we're offering the patients the most up-to-date latest and greatest kind of stuff, while staying close to home. I feel like I can get anybody from where they are to where they want to be. I think that's the biggest benefit to coming to my practice. I have a lot of experience and I've seen a lot of things. Even if I was not the clinical provider, I trained under a lot of really great specialty people.
Dr. Caroline Jones became a dentist because she had such a positive experience with orthodontics that she wanted to be able to pass that joy on to other people. She enjoys connecting with patients one-on-one and helping increase their confidence through beautiful smiles.
A 1995 graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Jones began working in dentistry at age 15 as a dental assistant. She developed a membership-based practice as a way to help patients access dental care with predictable fixed costs. Inspired by patients who struggled with the surprise costs from insurance, she opened Great American Smiles™ in Austin to provide consistent high-quality care for an affordable annual or monthly fee.
Her unique membership plan delivers a broad array of services, including cosmetic dentistry, for a low, interest-free fee. The plan offers significant savings when compared to the costs at practices that base their pricing on what insurance companies will pay.
The best part of Dr. Jones’s job is helping people feel great about themselves and giving them a new outlook on life. She feels that her patients enjoy her care because of her ability to connect with them on a personal level. She wants everyone to feel loved and cared for regardless of income or status.
Her professional memberships include:
- Hispanic Dental Association
- American Association for Women Dentists
- American Dental Association (TX)
- Academy of General Dentistry
Plus, Dr. Jones is the first dentist in North America to become certified in the Biofunctional Prosthetic System® for dentures.
Volunteering and philanthropy are key to Dr. Jones’s happiness and sense of community. She is a member of several charitable arts organizations in Austin, including The Paramount Theatre’s Century Club and Black Fret, a patronage of local Austin music.
All the art on the walls of our practice are from local Austin artists. Dr. Jones participates with HAAM, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, through the dental program and wants to promote a new program she created, Give Music a Smile. For every 100 membership plans sold, she will donate a year of comprehensive care to a local Austin musician.
Originally from coastal South Carolina, Dr. Jones moved to Texas for the brisket and stayed for the people. She is married to Dr. Stephen Trumble, the love of her life. They have four children between them, ages 22 and 21 (hers), and 16 and 14 (her husband’s). They also have one dog, Pepper.
In her free time, she loves to cook and play music, particularly the mandolin and fiddle. She speaks French fluently thanks to her bachelor’s degree in French. She also has a working knowledge of Spanish.
“I created Great American Smiles™ for people just like you. Our unique membership model delivers a broad array of general and cosmetic dentistry for a low, interest-free monthly fee tailored specifically for you. This fee is typically up to 60% of what you might pay at a traditional dental office.”
